Desi Daru Vodka Gets Listing with Selfridges in UK

British-Indian vodka brand Desi Daru, an ultra-premium vodka brand that fuses Indian and British cultures and which entered the market only a year ago, has secured a listing with Selfridges department stores in the UK.

Desi Daru Vodka is owned by Singh and Aneet Kaur, a husband-and-wife team, and has rapidly gained acclaim since its launch in May 2023. The vodka is made with ‘the finest ingredients’, including Alphonso mangoes from Ratnagiri, India, and English winter wheat.

Mohit Singh said that they were delighted to be entering into Selfridges, which is not just a store but a landmark destination that celebrates innovation and luxury. Being listed here is a testament to all the hard work we have put into creating a top-quality product and building a brand that we are truly proud of, he said.

Ciaran McNicholas, founder and CEO of Nightcap Brands, Desi Daru’s UK distributor, said that Selfridges is known for its excellent spirit selection, only listing exceptional brands that offer something truly special to its customers. Desi Daru’s commitment to quality, using only the very best ingredients, makes it a perfect fit, Ciaran said.

Earlier this year, the brand secured a listing with Master of Malt and crowned the winner of its

inaugural cocktail competition, Culture Colliders.

Two Varieties

The vodka brand offers two varieties – Alphonso Mango Vodka and Original Vodka and both are now available through Master of Malt at $48 for a 700ml bottle.

Desi Daru has announced in July to expand its business in the UK and international markets by raising $1.2 million.

Desi Daru’s Alphonso Mango-flavoured vodka is made using succulent Alphonso mangoes from Ratnagiri, Maharashtra, referred to as King of the Mangoes in India. Their Mango Vodka and Original Vodka but use English wheat, creating a richly satisfying vodka that is seven times distilled for velvety smoothness that can be sipped or mixed into bold and memorable cocktails.

Desi Daru has launched inaugural cocktail competition, Culture Colliders, and joined Nightcap brands making them poised for another year of expansion across the UK, continuing to make waves in the industry with their multi award-winning liquids.

At The Spirits Business Awards 2024, Desi Daru is not only the official vodka pour of the awards, but it is also nominated in the Vodka Brand of The Year category.
