Dubai Attracted 60 European Projects in Last Four Years

President and CEO of Dubai Chambers Mohammed Ali Rashed Lootah said that Dubai has attracted 60 European investment projects, worth $270 million, in the digital economy sectors over the past four years.

Speaking on the side lines of the Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy’s participation in the inaugural edition of GITEX Europe – Berlin 2025 on Thursday, he noted that the participation in the exhibition, being held for the first time in the European Union, reflected Dubai’s commitment to strengthening its position as a global capital of the digital economy and a preferred destination for living and working for entrepreneurs and advanced technology professionals from Europe and around the world.

He pointed out that these efforts complement the presence of four Dubai Chamber International representative offices in Europe, which work to enhance cooperation and build joint opportunities between business communities in Dubai and European countries, and attract European investors and companies to Dubai to benefit from the emirate’s competitive advantages as a leading global hub for business growth and expansion across all sectors.

The Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy is showcasing the competitive advantages of Dubai’s digital business environment at GITEX Europe – Berlin 2025, as well as introducing German and European companies to the importance of participating in Expand North Star 2025, the world’s largest event for start-ups and investors.

The event, which is scheduled to be held in Dubai in October of this year, is organised by the Dubai World Trade Centre and hosted by the Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy.

Rise in Digital Start-Ups

During the first quarter of this year, the Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy supported the setting up and expansion of 127 digital start-ups in Dubai, representing a growth rate of 135% compared to the same period last year.

During the first quarter of this year, the Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy held four events to support the business community, empower start-ups, foster talent, strengthen partnerships, and advance the business ecosystem.

During the first quarter, it also trained 729 participants in digital skills development programs, with the aim of enhancing the readiness of human resources specialized in advanced technology sectors to meet the requirements of the digital future.

It continued its efforts to enhance support for companies seeking to launch or expand their operations in the emirate through the “Business Support and Attraction” platform.

The platform’s base of service providers was expanded through collaboration with 20 new partners during the first quarter of this year, bringing the total number of platform partners to 114, specialising in a variety of service fields.
