Ronn to Build Hydrogen Truck Factories in Saudi Arabia

Saudi Arabia is witnessing a major leap in transportation as hydrogen truck manufacturers are making a beeline to establish their production units in the Kingdom.

While Chinese firm Hyperview Mobility is the first company to tap Saudi Hydrogen truck market, the US-based Ronn Motor Group, which designs passenger and commercial vehicles and urban logistics trucks in partnership with manufacturing and engineering firms like Roush and Magna Styer, also announced that it will set up two hydrogen vehicle production facilities in Saudi Arabia.

Hyperview Mobility is also establishing the Kingdom’s first hydrogen-powered truck factory and the Middle East’s first autonomous driving hardware factory as part of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed with the Saudi sovereign wealth fund -Public Investment Fund (PIF). The project targets to produce 1000 hydrogen trucks and 300,000 self-driving hardware units annually, with 60% of truck output earmarked for export.

Ronn Inc’s planned advanced facility will produce 10,000 hydrogen electric logistics trucks, 1000 Ronn Phoenix sports vehicles, and a one-off Halo Hypercar as part of the Vision 2030 human capital alignment.

Engineering plans will be developed and executed in the US and training programs will be proved to designed to upskill Saudi-based engineers. However, the technical details of the project were not disclosed.

The decision was taken following a high-level call between Saudi executives, Ronn Inc CEO Ronn Ford, and others has, to approve a multi-billion-dollar hydrogen budget, with a contingency framework allowing up to $4 billion set to roll out across a three-year implementation window ahead of Vision 2030. Additional milestones and rollout specifics will be disclosed as project phases are approved.

Legacy Defining Evolution

In his comments, Ford said that this joint venture is a culmination of decades of innovation and a belief in hydrogen as the next great global energy paradigm.

“I have been building vehicles since the 1950s and this moment marks a legacy defining evolution,” he said.

Ronn, which was founded a decade ago, is focused on developing zero-emission hydrogen fuel cell vehicles, modular infrastructure, and high-performance supercars. The company is committed to scalable innovation, sustainable energy solutions, and global partnerships that accelerate the hydrogen economy.

Hyperview Mobility, the Chinese autonomous driving solution provider, is establishing the Kingdom’s first hydrogen-powered truck factory and the Middle East’s first autonomous driving hardware factory under an MoU signed with the Public Investment Fund. The project targets to produce 1k hydrogen trucks and 300k self-driving hardware units annually, with 60% of truck output earmarked for export.
