Dubai Hotel Rooms’ Revenue Reach $4.93 Billion in 2024

Hotel room revenues in Dubai increased by 4.68% last year to reach $4.93 billion, compared with $4.71 billion in 2023, according to data from the Department of Economy and Tourism.

This has indicated that the number of nights spent in Dubai hotels reached 43.03 million in 2024, a 3% growth in the number of hotel rooms booked during the past year compared with 41.7 million nights the previous year.

The average return on the room reached $114.62 last year, an increase of 2% compared with the previous year to reach $112.99 in 2023. The revenues achieved by hotels operating in Dubai have reached record levels during the past period, placing the Emirate among the most important global markets, the data showed.

This has also revealed the intense competition between hotel groups that have been constantly seeking to enhance their presence and increase their share in the local market to benefit from the growing tourist flows from various markets.

During the past year, Dubai welcomed more than 18.7 million international visitors, exceeding all previous records and with a growth rate of 9%, leading the recovery of the tourism sector globally. Dubai hotels recorded occupancy rates of 78% in 2024, which is among the highest rates in the world, with the accommodation capacity of hotel facilities increasing to more than 154,000 rooms.

Strong Performance

Dubai’s hotel sector, a key part of the Emirate’s ambition to achieve overall tourism growth, continued to perform strongly, surpassing pre-pandemic levels across a range of metrics, including hotel occupancy, room bookings, guest length of stay, average daily room rate (ADR) and revenue per available room (RevPAR).

This success achieved by Dubai’s tourism sector is due to the diversity of landmarks and tourist experiences offered by the Emirate to meet the aspirations and budgets of various visitors, which enhanced its position and made it crowned the best global destination in the “Travellers’ Choice Awards 2024” announced by TripAdvisor, the largest travel platform in the world.

This is the third consecutive year, and the first time a city has achieved such an important accomplishment, coinciding with the first anniversary of the launch of the Dubai Economic Agenda D33, which aims to make Dubai one of the top 3 global destinations for visitors in the fields of specialised tourism and business, as well as confirming its position as the best city in the world to live, work and visit.
