UAE plans to launch AI tutor to enhance learning, education

UAE’s Minister of Education, Ahmed Belhoul Al Falasi has announced the idea of working to develop and launching of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tutors in the country in collaboration with global tech giants to improve learning and education.

He disclosed while participating in the World Government Summit which started on February 13 and concluded on Wednesday (February 15) in Dubai.

He said the Ministry of Education (MoE) will be partnering with Microsoft, OpenAI, and other tech firms, to use AI for improving the quality of education and learning.

Al Falasi said that the ministry will conduct a full review of the system from curriculum to delivery and assessment, to lay out a map for placing AI tools across the board along with its partners. The new technology will improve students’ learning experiences, offer instant feedback, and make education interactive.

The new technology aims to make learning more interactive for students and improve subject understanding and provide them with the resources they need in a rapidly evolving world.

He delivered a ChatGPT-generated speech at the summit despite his communications team’s insistence not to do so. He asked not to demonize AI as it will be a part of human lives and he used this to prove that it can deliver a pretty good speech.

AI in education can personalise learning. AI-powered tools can analyse a student’s learning style, strengths, and weaknesses and customize their learning experience accordingly.

World Government Summit 2023

The summit is a global forum that took place annually in Dubai. This year it is hosting dignitaries including Egyptian President, Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of Senegal and Chairperson of the African Union, Macky Sall.

Some 250 ministers, 10,000 government officials and thought and business pioneers, were present. The sessions and forums were be enriched by over 80 international, regional, and governmental organizations.

The theme of The World Government Summit 2023 was “Shaping Future Governments.”

The aim was to drive positive change and to promote innovation in the public sector by exploring new ideas, technologies, and best governance practices. 

The summit brings together leaders in government for a global dialogue about governmental processes and policies with a focus on the issues of futurism, technology innovation and other topics every year.

The chairman of the World Government Summit is Mohammad Al Gergawi with Ohood bint Khalfan Al Roumi serving as Vice Chairman of the organization and Omar Sultan AlOlama is the Managing Director of the World Government Summit.
